NEW MISSION MINISTRY IN OREGON-IDAHO CONFERENCE

An exciting new ministry and mission in the Portland area needs help from individuals and church mission teams to help them open their doors this summer. Soon to merge with Tigard UMC, Metzger UMC will become the site of Bethlehem House of Bread. The program will house a food pantry, community garden, community meals, classes…..and much much more in the near future. Give your helping hand in His name! Upcoming Mission Teams Seeking Members for 2014!

Manaus, Brazil - Spring 2014 Medical Mission Team
A conference-wide medical mission team is being planned to the Amazon River in the spring of 2014. Team leader, Elaine Jones, RN, will hold an informational meeting at Portland First on May 21, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. (1838 SW Jefferson St., Portland, 97201). The team will work for one week on the Methodist mission boat at Manaus, Brazil. The group of 10-12 volunteers needs at least one physician, one dentist, one dental assistant as well as nurses and non-medical personnel. Phnom Penh, Cambodia - February 2014
Dee Poujade from Portland First will lead a team to work at the Street Children Ministry with Clara Biswas, GBGM missionary. More trip details will be available June, 2013. For Team Leader contact information, please email UMVIM.ColumbiaDistrict@comcast.net
